The list may seem impressive; rest assured, it is. The elite of a scene still (for now) shadowy but brilliantly redeeming; it gathers, in recent and exemplary collaborations, Antonella Eye Porcelluzzi, Black Saturn, Julien Ash, or Arnaud Chatelard, to name just a few luminous asteroids. For this whole charming world, with its characterized demand, does not mistake itself: GROSSO GADGETTO has now become a must. If Christian Gonzalez believes that the time has come to press on it or change the brake pads, like the present realization, he wanders or misguides just as charmingly.

FEET ON THE BRAKE certainly concludes a very rich year for the musician, however, this single release might manifest sparkling new stratospheric perspectives. An album of intentional appeasement? Yet, FEET ON THE BRAKE is a voluminous atmospheric portfolio, the tranquil demonstration of a talented explorer, challenging the limits and superficial boundaries of musical genres, by principle, inconsistents.

The thick fluidity of "Dark Meeting" evades, a promise of a journey in gloomy opacity, yet the claws are no less harmless, harmonic deceleration, blended images, gradual fragmentation, on the edge of cinematic erasure, frozen (The Instructions). Precious and melancholic harmony, "Alchemical" approaches and grazes sentimental elegy. Immediately addictive, "Sweet As a Rosebush" is not done spinning. Present and fleeting, the "Dolent Ritournelle" lingers for a moment around the worn stones of Rosa Mir before the salutary exile, a never come back, who knows. Expressionist, inexorable progression, "The Anger of the People" testifies to the strangeness of a resigned, fatalistic beauty, that of an awakening of awareness (collective)? Proven orientalist digression, "Fantasy" paints a striking panorama, where myths shatter in a much less dreamlike hyper-realistic overview.
It will be reasonably difficult to admit, to reconcile with it, but "Complicated Simplicity" which closes the album, has all the premonitory arguments, a perfect illustration for the soundtrack of a troubled era.
